I am an ex firefighter who has served my community for the last 8 years gaining the rank of crew manager,
I
love the job so much I bought the company! No really I did....
It was set up several years ago by a Sub officer
from Humberside to cover drag racing and other local motorsports, as the business grew and the demands on his expertise for
health and safety became to much Glen sold the business to me so he could concentrate on the paperwork.
Since I
bought the business I renamed it Event Fire Services as Glen was to keep the name
UK Event Safety for himself.
With the help of my fellow firefighters and my son we have managed keep the previous customers
and add quite a lot more.
At present the work is primarily through summer and we quite often have crews leaving
for opposite ends of the country at weekends with events as far apart as Edinburgh and Kent.
Even though the crews
are mainly serving firefighters we still like to drill together regularly, we also like to work with local medical
providers as this gives a valuable insite into patient care and multi agency teamwork.
The services we can offer are rapidly expanding, such as we have recently provided catering unit safety checks at
Vfest, ensuring over 120 catering units were complying with all the relevant safety regulations.
